The Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław is pleased to invite you to participate in the Scientific Conference "Spirituality in Music - Music in Spirituality". The conference will take place on 23-24 April 2024 at the premises of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław. The length of the Conference and the number of panels depends on the number of speakers.
The aim of the All-Polish Scientific Conference is to confront attitudes, observations and insights, results of own and collaborative research, as well as to hold discussions and strengthen ties between nationwide scientific and artistic centres.

PROPOSED TOPICS FOR THE PRESENTATIONS:

  • the problematic of terms, meanings and contexts (e.g. spirituality, sacrality - in musical art)
  • the presence of music in various types of Christian spirituality
  • manifestations of spirituality in musical art of all eras and trends
  • metaphysical reflection in music and (a) religious music
  • expression of the creator's spiritual ideas
  • ontology of the musical work
  • relationship between God/Absolute and the creator and his work
  • the issue of time
  • analysis of verbal and musical texts
  • other unmentioned theoretical-musical, musicological and philosophical issues directly related to the topic of the event.

Independent scholars as well as doctoral and post-doctoral students of science and art are invited to actively participate.

Conference within the framework of the project "Quo vadis, musica? - between mission and duty in the context of the third millennium" co-financed from funds of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Fund for the Promotion of Culture - a state purpose fund.

"Quo vadis, musica? - between mission and duty in the context of the third millennium". - A two-year project (2024-2025) involving the organisation of a series of conferences in the field of musical art, linked by the theme of the mission and duties of the musician artist and educator in the contemporary world. The aim of the series is to address the above-mentioned issues, with a particular focus on the creative process and music education in the context of music of the third millennium.
